Maybe It's Just Me...
I enjoyed Thriller just as much as the next person BUT, does anyone else think it's a little gross that Michael Jackson is plastered all over every possible news orifice? Just because at one point in your life you were the "King of Pop" it doesn't make you NOT a child molester...

Just sayin'...
I'm really tired of hearing about this "HUGE" Miss USA debate.
Equal rights.
Legalize gay marriage.
Blah, blah, blah.
Before any readers, who happen to be gay, come along get their panties in a twist, hear me out.
In our country, with a divorce rate hovering at nearly 50%, I find it hard to swallow that narrow minded politicians still cling to the idea that marriage is "sacred, and only to be between a man and a woman".
I say, with time comes change.
If you are a gay/lesbian and want to be married, go for it.
And, good luck, cause you are going to need it.
Personally, I don't care.
Call me bitter.
Call me jaded.
Whatever.
Two people who love each other should not have to have permission from anyone to share their lives together. Gay OR straight. Everyone is entitled to the same rights. Gay or straight.
Supposedly that is what our country is based on.
Well, it's supposed to be, now that we have seperation of church and state.
Right.
All of these politicians are stating that the law says marriage is to be between a man and a woman.
And where did they get that idea?
From the Bible.
If you remove the Bible from the equation, what do you have?
Not a leg to stand on regarding the "law".
You can't have it both ways.
Or I guess maybe you can.
Maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe I've misunderstood something along the way.
Or not.

Happy St. Patty's Day!
An Old Irish Blessing
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

Not That I'm Counting...
It's been nearly 30 days since my last post.
I'm seriously lacking in the motivation department.
I will try to do better...
Where to start?
BBall is over. The girl's team placed 3rd. The boy's team placed 2nd. The tournaments were alot of fun, despite the bleacher butt 2 weekends in a row.
The appraisal appeal paid off. Well, kinda. When the county appraiser came to do a walk through, he only deducted about 6 grand for the incomplete remodeling. So, I decided that I'd go ahead and get a paid appraisal. Just as I had suspected, I was nearly 8 grand less than the county appraisers estimated market value. So while I did overpay on my home by quite a bit, yeah that kinda sucks, it was worth it to pay for an appraisal to have the actual market value on record. I'll be saving more on my taxes than the cost of the appraisal fee. When remodeling is completed I will be paying for an appraisal again. Nothing like keeping the county honest.
We've been getting out hiking and fishing at every opportunity. The sheds are starting to drop and we've found a couple.
Bo, the little pup we found Christmas Eve is back. Things didn't work out at her new home so I guess we have another furry until we can find another home for her. A little FYI, she isn't nearly as cute as she was a couple of months ago. She's kind going through an ugly duckling stage. At this point, I'm not really sure what she is going to look like when she's done growing...
One of my very closest friends came down a couple of weekends ago to do Jake's senior pictures. She had done some family shots several years ago and she has a really good eye. I keep telling her she needs to do this for a living...
Here's my favorite.

I still can't believe that he's graduating and joining the Marines in less than 6 months. To me, he's still looks like a baby...
I can't think of anything else to update. It's not like nothing else has been going on, just too long between posts.
Have a fantastic week!
